Eye disease


Eye, the organ of sight. The human eye has been called the most complex organ in our body. The human eye, works much like a digital camera. When it comes to vision problems, some people don't realise
they could see better with glasses. Common eye diseases such as glaucoma, eye disease and age-related degeneration often have no warning signs. Doing dilated eye exam is the only way to detect their diseases in their early stages. A regular eye exam is the best way to protect your sight with these tips:


1. know your family's eye health history: talk to the members of your family to know more about their eye health history. This will help to determine if you are at high risk for developing an eye disease.
2. Eat for good vision: choose foods rich in anti-oxidant like vitamin A&C, foods like green, leafy vegetable and fish. Carrot is good for the eye. Eating diet rich in fruits is important for keeping your eyes health. Eating a well balanced diet help you maintain a healthy weight, being over weight or obese increase your risk of developing diabetes and other condition.
3. Quit smoking: smoking exposes your eyes to high level of oxidative stress. You are more likely to get cataracts if you don't quit smoking.
4. Wear protective sun glass. Sun glasses help you protect your eyes from the sun's ultraviolet rays. When playing sport or activities around home or on the field, wear protective eye wear. Protective eye wear includes safety glasses, eye guards, goggles and safety shields. Exercise improves blood circulation which improves oxygen levels to the eyes and remove toxins.
5. Look away from computer screen. Don't stare at a computer screen for too long it can cause 
- Eyes strain 
- Blurry vision 
- Dry yes
- Headaches 
- Neck, shoulder and back pain.
 Give your eyes a lot of rest.
